In the past days, I’ve noticed that people are really addicted to TikTok not only because of its bottomless experience also people worried about banning it in India and other social platforms bringing it as a new feature!

I’m the one who had a bad experience on Instagram after bringing up the Reels (a bottomless experience) Yes it provides a seamless experience but do people need that? is it not making people addicted to it? Is it not making users to eat more? Yeah maybe it’s gluttony but yes that’s the truth.

The bottomless experience leads to what my mom used to say “Too much of anything is good for nothing” the experience that Reel and TikTok not saying to stop at anywhere until something interrupts you maybe “Boss is calling”

Think about this screen I got it on the internet!

If the bottomless application introduces this kind of experience, at least this interruption should be made the user think about how much time they spend on it right?

Even google search engine does the same by introducing pagination which allows the user to correct themselves by searching for the right phrases. but not all the google apps allow the user to interrupt. Instead of creating digital wellbeing applications each and every application can be able to take care of their users, maybe this will be the best user experience ever!

Just adding my view on the Incredible Internet

Adding this link I got it from the research gate!

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/7973618_Bottomless_Bowls_Why_Visual_Cues_of_Portion_Size_May_Influence_Intake

People consume 73% more soup on an auto refilling bowl than it served by servers.

This equal to how users spend time on the bottomless design! maybe 73% more time on bottomless design how unproductive design we have!
Digital wellbeing must be on each and every applications
